This site is a handful of HTML files on a small VPS. There is no build step worth mentioning, which is the point. The only thing I had to think about was caching.
/assets/ gets a long max-age and immutable. If I change the stylesheet I change its name.If-Modified-Since and get a cheap 304.Pages are tiny, but turning on zstd and gzip still halves the transfer for the longer posts. Browsers that send Accept-Encoding: zstd get zstd, everyone else gets gzip.
That's it. Total page weight for this post is under 10 KB including the stylesheet.
